Bread Machine Challah w/Black Magic Honey

chalah

Baking does NOT come easy to me, despite my Lithuanian Great-grandfather running a bakery.  So when Oren brought home a bread machine, that would do half the battle for me the first thing I wanted to see if it could do was Challah!  This Voodoo Farm’s original recipe, enjoy!

1 cup warm water

1/2 cup sugar

1 and a half tablespoons Voodoo Farm Black Magic Honey

1/2 cup olive oil

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

2 eggs

4 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

1 beaten egg with tablespoon water added

Put all ingredients in order except beaten egg with added water into machine and start dough cycle.  When cycle finishes, take out and punch dough down and let rest 5 minutes.  Cut dough into 2 equal halves, then separate each half into 3 twelve inch ropes and braid.  Cover with warm damp cloth and let rise 1 hour.  Heat oven to 350.  Brush loves with beaten egg mixture and bake for 20 minutes or so.
